Honda has revealed the new Passport SUV for the U.S.A market.
Described as offering rugged design, authentic off-road capability, and next-level versatility and exceptional on-road performance, this new SUV is being launched with a 281bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that is said to get model-specific tuning.
All this then comes paired with the firm's torque vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system, for optimised traction in all driving scenarios, especially slick and off-road conditions.
The 'TrailSport' trim Passport that you see in the images above also comes with a host of rugged features as standard including robust steel skid plates, bright orange heavy-duty recovery hooks, and all-terrain tyres sitting within aggressively flared fenders, all backed by an off-road tuned suspension.
Look from the back and you'll notice the car also gets a unique matte black finish upper rear roof section, designed to allow owners to lean skis, fishing poles and other adventure equipment against the car without damage.
In the cabin, the Honda Passport now makes use of a 10.2-inch digital driver instrument display alongside a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Google built-in and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard. Also present here are new body stabilising seats, said to help reduce fatigue on longer drives.
The Honda Passport is set to be offered with a host of accessories including an aluminium front scuff plate and robust rock sliders with a stainless-steel plate, a cargo roof platform, and a clever cargo shelf that transforms into a sturdy adventure-ready picnic table large enough to seat four.
The new second-generation Passport and Passport TrailSport will be built at the Honda Auto Plant in Lincoln, Alabama and is set to make its way to showrooms across the U.S.A by early 2025.
