Honda unveils the Honda S+ Shift and new e:HEV technology

On 19 December 2024, Honda held a press briefing on next-generation technologies for the e:HEV - the brand's original two-motor hybrid system - and also presented the world premiere of Honda S+ Shift technology.

Moving forward, the brand plans to install the S+ Shift in all of its future hybrid-electric vehicle models featuring the next-generation e:HEV, and will start with the all-new Honda Prelude scheduled for release in 2025.

The S+ Shift is a new function designed to accentuate the connection between driver and vehicle, while leveraging the attributes of the e:HEV system. In addition, the function controls the engine RPM during acceleration and deceleration for direct drive response and sharp gear shifting.
