Hyundai Motor (Hyundai) has introduced the Ioniq 3, a fully electric compact hatchback that brings about a new "Aero Hatch" typology with a silhouette optimised for both aerodynamic efficiency and interior space.
This model introduces Hyundai's "Art of Steel" design language to the compact EV segment. Surfaces are reduced to a few deliberate volumes, reflecting the natural behaviour of sheet metal. Signature pixel lighting elements are complemented by four central dots referencing the letter "H" in Morse code.
Customers can also choose from 11 exterior colours, multiple interior schemes, and wheel options from 16- to 19-inches (including N Line variants).
And despite its compact exterior dimensions, the Ioniq 3's interior sees a long wheelbase and flat-floor layout offering generous legroom and headroom. The integrated Megabox provides additional, cleverly concealed storage space beneath the trunk floor. And depending on the spec, features such as Relaxation Seats, heated and ventilated seating, and carefully selected textile materials are also available.
The Ioniq 3 is also the first European Hyundai model to feature the Pleos Connect Infotainment system, which itself is based on the Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and utilises a 12.9- or 14.6-inch display. It also comes with Hyundai's latest Smartsense advanced driver assistance systems, with the key features including Highway Driving Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Memory Reverse Assist, Surround View Monitor, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the inside of the Ioniq 3 offers generous headroom and legroom
Designed at Hyundai's Izmit plant in Turkey, the Ioniq 3 is front-wheel driven and offers two electric powertrains that deliver up to 107.8kW and 250Nm, as well as a top speed of 170km/h. Built on Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform with a 400V electrical architecture, the Ioniq 3 offers two battery options, Standard Range (42.2kWh) and Long Range (61.0kWh), that deliver projected WLTP ranges of 344km and 496km respectively.
The Standard Range variant is able to recharge from 10-80% in approximately 29 minutes, with the Long Range option taking 30 minutes.
