Hyundai has announced that it will launch its circular economy platform, Re:Style in Europe. This 2023 edition of the platform will be launched in Amsterdam in collaboration with world-renowned Designer Jeremy Scott, who will also be joined by star designer Maria Cornejo. Cornejo was the first designer to join Re:Style in 2019 and is a driving force behind sustainable fashion globally.
Designer Jeremy Scott, meanwhile, has launched his one-of-a-kind couture collection for the platform when it was launched in Seoul in March 2023. The couture collection made use of discarded materials from Hyundai's electric vehicles, alongside deadstock fabrics, and will be brought to the heart of sustainable living in Amsterdam.
Re:Style seeks to inspire people worldwide and for this 2023 edition, will encourage individuals to challenge pre-existing stereotypes. The platform is also said to represent Hyundai's commitment to initiating conversations about waste and resource depletion by maximising the use, reuse, and recycling of products and materials.
In 2020, the project evolved into a platform for collaboration with six designers at the Selfridges store in London. Most recently, in 2021, the company partnered with L'Eclaireur in Paris and Boontheshop in Seoul, expanding its reach and impact even further.
