Hyundai to switch to North American Charging Standard

Hyundai Motor North America has now announced that it too will be joining the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
The firm has stated that starting from the last quarter of 2024, all new or refreshed Hyundai electric vehicles sold in the U.S.A will come exclusively with the NACS port, while Canada is set to follow from the first half of 2025. This move will mean that owners of Hyundai's electric vehicles will gain access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S.A, Canada, and Mexico, doubling the size of the fast charging network available to them.
Hyundai further states that Tesla's commitment to expanding its network will enhance the access to out-of-home charging options of its own customers, and that the network supports the ultra-fast charging speeds available on Hyundai's advanced Electric-Global Modular Platform-based vehicles. These include the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, as well as a yet-to-be-revealed Ioniq 7.
Owners of existing and future Hyundai EVs with the current CCS charging port will have access to the Tesla Supercharging Network from the first quarter of 2025 via an adapter that Hyundai will supply to these customers. The firm will also make adapters available for NACS-equipped vehicles to charge at CCS chargers.
