Imaginative rendering paints BMW X2

BMW has been active in registering a large number of tradenames. Amongst the tradenames registered, one of those was "X2" which has sparked speculation that the Bavarian automaker will develop a sloping roofline version of the X1. While waiting for the official word, here is an artistic rendering by Roger Lighterness of how the model will look like.

Although the rendering keeps consistent with the current X cars SUV design, previous rumors have stated the final model will boast more dynamic and sportier coupe body styling. Insiders have also stated that it would be a cross between the X and Z models and might have a similar style to the original X Coupe Concept that was originally introduced in 2001.

With the automaker currently focused on the X4, it may be some time before the confirmation of X2's production is released.
