First unveiled at the 2015 Finali Mondiali in Mugello, Tuscany, Italy, the Ferrari 488 GT3 will be fielded by newly founded Asian racing team, T2 Motorsports, in their forthcoming GT championship journey. The GT3 version of the 488 GTB is built on the heritage of the 458 Italia GT3 and will be competing in several international championships including the Intercontinental GT Challenge, Asian Le Mans Series, Blancpain GT Series - Asian Cup and the Gulf 12 hours.

"Motorsport runs through the blood of Ferrari - the concepts of passion and competition have always been an intrinsic part of our DNA", said Dieter Knechtel, CEO of Ferrari Far East and Middle East in congratulating the launch of the T2 Motorsports racing team. "We are all looking forward to the performance of the team and the 488 GT3 in the upcoming races."
The Ferrari 488 GT3 represents a major break with the past. A completely new car, built from scratch with the aim of providing even greater performance, while keeping the same amazing driveability of the 458 Italia. With a chassis made entirely of aluminium; it is light and rigid, delivering great reactivity and precision. Designed with the requirements of endurance racing in mind, the fuel cell ensures perfect fuel scavenging at all times and the car is fitted with a racing suspension developed specifically for it.
The 488 GT3's turbo V8 engine is where the most radical changes can be found. Calling on Ferrari's knowhow in producing efficient, high performance engines, the racing version of the V8 engine delivers the highest levels of driveability while reducing almost to zero any disadvantages from the engine type. The other major breakthrough can be found in the gearbox, where it is transversal, no longer longitudinal. This choice is driven by the aerodynamic requirements of the car to allow for extreme configurations, making the car even more manageable for the drivers.
The Ferrari 488 GT3 produces 600bhp at 6,500rpm and 700Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. It can go from a standstill to 100km/h in just three seconds, and on to a top speed of 330km/h.

Racing drivers and entrepreneurs; Gregory Teo and David Tjiptobiantoro found T2 Motorsports racing team. Brought together by a common dedication and love for Ferrari and racing, both have a broad experience in several international racing events such as the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific. This special partnership is the first cross-straits racing team formed between Singapore and Indonesia, a first in Southeast Asia. Two other drivers complete the team, Head Coach for Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific, Christian Colombo from Italy and noted Korean actor Jeong Hoon Yeon.
