Two new highly-efficient gasoline units, a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 and a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four, will join the revised 2.2-litre and 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel units. Also in the range are the naturally aspirated or supercharged 5.0-litre V8 gasoline engines.
The XF saloon and Sportbrake models comes with the 2.2-litre turbodiesel in either 161bhp and 400Nm or with, 197bhp and 449Nm of torque. The new 2.0-litre turbocharged produces 237bhp and 339Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre V6 outputs 335bhp and 449Nm of torque has improved fuel economy by almost 30 percent.
The entire engine range is mated to the newer eight speed automatic with a retuned suspension to optimize handling and ride quality of the XJ range.
The V6 and V8 equipped cars will have a Start/Stop system which improves fuel efficiency by five percent. The new V6 propels the XJ to 100km/h in 5.7s before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 249km/h. Jaguar will also offer a Meridian sound system throughout the entire range. Other interior changes include a revised infotainment system with redesigned navigation, entertainment and connectivity screens.
