Based on individual driver's driving preferences, Juke offers three modes. In the normal mode, the vehicle strikes optimal balance between performance and fuel efficiency. Selecting sports mode brings out the sporty and responsive control and finally, the eco mode optimizes the efficient use of resources including improved fuel efficiency.
The pre-orders are largely helped by the Japanese government's push for cleaner vehicles. Being classified as a super ultra-low emission vehicle and emitting up to 75 per cent less CO2 than required by the Japanese regulations, sales of the vehicle stand to gain from the Japanese government's Green incentive program. The vehicle will be eligible for government tax breaks ranging from 50 to 75 per cent.
The tax incentives offered by Japanese governments are encouraging consumers to buy fuel efficient vehicles. One of the prime beneficiaries of this incentive scheme has been the third generation Toyota Prius which is reigning as the top-selling model in Japanese market since the launch in May last year. In fact the hybrid sedan has constantly outsold its nearest competitor by a wide margin.
While the pre-orders have been exceptionally strong in Japan, it remains to be seen how Juke performs in other major markets. The vehicle is on course to start sales in Europe and the US this autumn.
