Kia has unveiled the 2026 Kia EV9 GT SUV at the 2024 LA Auto Show, which runs from 22 November 2024 to 1 December 2024.
With an estimated 508bhp propelled through dual electric motors mounted front (160kW) and rear (270kW), the car is targeted to go from 0-100km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Its electronically controlled suspension - a first for a Kia SUV - sets shock damping based on the selected drive mode.
The EV9 GT also comes with Virtual Gear Shift (VGS), which simulates the experience of a traditional step-shift automatic transmission, and Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD), which helps with cornering stability.
Its 800V fast charging architecture is standard across the EV9 lineup and allows it to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 25 minutes with DC fast chargers. Starting in the first half of 2025, all EV9s will have the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port as standard.
The car also sports GT-exclusive design elements, with high-performance Continental tyres wrapped around exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels, neon green callipers, with an "Energetic" lighting pattern and GT-exclusive patterns adorning the Active Air Flaps.
In its interior, bright green accents adorn the GT-exclusive steering wheel and deeply bolstered sports seats with Alcantara suede inserts. As all EV9s come with over-the-air update technology, future lighting patterns and content available in the future can be downloaded through the Kia Connect app.
The Kia EV9 GT will be assembled in South Korea and expected to arrive in Kia showrooms across the U.S.A in the latter half of 2025, with pricing to be announced closer to its on-sale date.
