Kumho Tires launches digital twin system to aid development
18 Oct 2024|126 views
South Korean tyre manufacturer Kumho Tires has launched a Digital Twin (DT) system to aid in tyre development by tyre engineers.
In response to technological trends towards growing demand for digital transformation and environmental regulations, the system was created by applying big data analytics, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and CAE technologies into the tyre development process.
The system is expected to shift the tyre development process from physical to virtual, and it will be utilised for generating tyre designs, performance prediction, design optimisation, and simulating vehicle performance.
The expectation is to attain shorter tyre development time, improved tyre performance, and reduced tyre development costs.
In the near future, the system is expected to be converted to a cloud system environment platform for access from anywhere in the world.
