After first revealing its all-terrain Sterrato at the end of 2022, Lamborghini has now revealed a new Lanzador concept - a high ground-clearance GT - at Monterey Car Week.
But this Lanzador concept is not like any Lamborghini before: Not only does it come with a 2+2 seating configuration, but it is also said to preview a future all-electric series production Lamborghini that will be built from 2028. This new car will occupy a new 'Ultra GT' segment by combining the ultra high-performance of the Revuelto super sports car and the animated versatility of an Urus.
No specific details have been revealed of this drivetrain as yet, although Lamborghini does state that it will utilise a high-power electric motor on each axle, and that it is capable of delivering a peak output of over 1,340bhp (or more than one megawatt). The system will also come with an active e-torque vectoring system at the rear axle for dynamic cornering behaviour.
Back to the Lanzador concept, the car is said to have been inspired by spaceships and utilises taut, clean lines that make it recognisable as a Lamborghini. At the front, the Lanzador gets head lights that are said to take inspiration from the Countach LPI 800-4. Fans of the firm's cars will note the continued the hexagonal shape - a design element now so associated with Lamborghini - for the Lanzador's taillights, similar to those on the Sian.
The adjustable rear seats in the Lamborghini Lanzador concept mean the rear space of the cabin can also be used for carrying all sorts of sports equipment or luggage
Lamborghini states that despite the raised ground-clearance, the car stands only at a total of 1,500m, allowing it to continue to sit powerfully on the road.
In the cabin, those seated at the front will face a slim and lightweight dashboard for maximum visibility outwards. The two seats here are separated by a large Y-shaped centre console, and the cabin is said to make extensive use of sustainable materials, including sustainable tanned leather, merino wool, and synthetic fibre from recycled plastic.
The Lamborghini Lanzador is said to take the idea of the 2+2 GT forward, with the rear space of the cabin also offering the ability to carry sports equipment and luggage thanks to adjustable rear seats and a variable luggage compartment. A trunk is additionally concealed under the front bonnet.
