Lexus LFA carbon fibre to be legacy for future models

When Lexus started developing the LFA, the automaker invested heavily in carbon fibre technology to ensure the model was as light as possible. Now that the LFA has ended its production, it would have have seem like a total waste. Nevertheless, the engineers have racked their brains to recycle the technology.

According to sources, Lexus' Motomachi plant will soon begin producing carbon fibre for "other models." There is no official word yet on which model would be getting the carbon fibre treatment, but a likely candidate could be the Lexus LF-LC concept.

Sadly, it won't be a direct successor to the LFA. As one source explained, "there were informal talks about another project to follow" the LFA "but the current business environment is too poor."

Regardless of which model gets picked in the end, the Lexus LFA's legacy lives on.
