The Petronas Sepang Racing Team has announced a new partnership with kick scooter manufacturer Velocifero to produce a prototype, limited edition Mad Air electric kick scooter.
The team's latest announcement follows the expansion of its off-track activities - namely, the development of electrified two-wheel vehicles. The prototype scooter will be showcased by the racing team across the remaining races in 2021.
A removable 36V, 10.4Ah battery pack guarantees sufficient range. In addition to a digital display that displays speed and power levels, the scooter features electric brakes and rear drilled disc brakes, just like on a racing car.
Weighing just 16kg, the Mad Air's low weight makes it a perfect e-mobility solution for zipping around and conquering the urban terrain. This scooter is fashioned in the signature colours of the Petronas SRT racing livery.
In terms of specifications, the PSRT Velocifero Mad Air meets the Land Transport Authority’s Personal Mobility Device requirements, weighing under 20kg and having a maximum speed of 25km/h. The scooter has yet to receive UL2272 certification.
