Lotus launches new charging solution for electric vehicles
29 Nov 2023|266 views
Lotus has launched its own electric vehicle charging solution.
The modular charging solution comes with components that include a liquid-cooled direct current charger which allows charging at speeds of up to 450kW. This translates to the ability to add up to 142km of range to the Eletre R (catch our review of the Eletre S here) in just five minutes of charging.
Also offered is a liquid-cooled power cabinet, designed to offer high charging speeds at locations where charging times need to be minimised, such as motorway rest stops. Finally, the solution also offers a liquid-cooled charging unit, which when used with the power cabinet, can charge up to four vehicles at once. This unit is said to allow a maximum current output of 600A, which ensures it is able to meet the needs of all electric vehicle drivers.
Lotus states that it is using liquid-cooled technology throughout its suite of commercial charging solutions to make it easier and quicker for electric vehicle owners to charge their vehicles. Lotus' fast-charging solution have already been deployed in China and is expected to roll out across the majority of European countries and Middle East by the second quarter of 2024, with Germany and Austria following at a later date.
