Lotus to debut Jenson Button's Evija at Monterey Car Week

Lotus has announced that it will debut Formula One World Champion Jenson Button's bespoke Evija at The Quail.

All examples of the Lotus Evija are completely bespoke, built after consultation with the Lotus Design team, and Button's car is no different. The Formula One champion's car comes in an Arctic White and Verve Yellow scheme, complete with Carbon Black accents and the number 22 displayed on the deployable door mirror housing and replicated on the interior door lining- a tribute to his 2009 Formula One Brawn GP race car.

The car also gets brake callipers in Verve Yellow, which sit behind gloss black alloy wheels with magnesium matt black highlights.

The Lotus Evija also gets an aluminium strip which runs vertically through its seat centre, which is laser-etched with the date and location of every one of Button's 15 Formula One race wins. The seats of the Evija themselves come upholstered in white and black perforated leather, while the cabin gets a ebony Alcantara headliner and steering wheel.

Lime Yellow contrast stitching also features here, with the colour also applied to the car's pedals, the rotary switch on the centre console, as well as the start/stop button and air vent surrounds.

Lotus states that visitors to The Quail will also be able to witness the unveiling of a thrilling all-new performance car that takes inspiration from Lotus' iconic racing heritage, while the Lotus Eletre will also be making its U.S.A debut at the event.
