LTA invites the public to preview stage 1 of the Downtown Line

The public are invited by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to get an early access to six stations lining the first stage of the new Downtown Line (DTL1) on the 7th of December. Visitors to the open house can take unlimited rides along the completed stations during the open house event before service officially opens on the 22nd of December.
Out of the stretch, visitors can bask themselves with music and activities from the 1960s era to 2000 and beyond at four stations - Bugis, Downtown, Telok Ayer and Chinatown.
Visit can enter the open via any of the stations - excluding Bayfront - as it is linked to the Circle Line that is currently in operation.
The DTL1 connects to the current East-West, Circle and North-East lines with four interchange stations. 400 new staff have been hired by rail operator - SBS Transit - for the new line.
The next two stages are projected to be ready in 2016 and 2017. Once complete the colossal 42km Downtown line will eventually have 34 stations.
