The GranCabrio Sport comes with the same 4.7-litre V8 engine as the GranCabrio, but has been revised to put out 10bhp more, bringing total power output to 450bhp. When fitted with Maserati’s MC Auto Shift 6-speed transmission, the GranCabrio Sport is able to hit 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds, and reach a top speed of 285km/h.
Other changes to the GranCabrio Sport include the revised Skyhook active-suspension system and a more-responsive brake package, while the exterior now has the addition of a black grille, smoked headlamps with white sidemarks, new front corner splitters and redesigned side skirts.
Maserati has also taken the opportunity to subtly revise the standard GranCabrio along with the GranCabrio Sport’s launch, with a new chromed front grille and side vents, improved lumbar support for the front seats and the addition of optional anodized matt red brake callipers among the updates.
The Italian carmaker gave the press a teaser test drive of the car in Trieste, Italy last week, and has now announced that the GranCabrio Sport is available for sale. The car will be sold in left hand drive markets first, with right hand drive versions expected to follow by the end of this year.
