Maserati has unveiled the long-awaited GranCabrio, the spyder twin of the GranTurismo.
Offered in the Trofeo trim at launch, the four seater spyder is powered by Maserati's twin-turbo, six-cylinder internal combustion Nettuno engine, giving the car an impressive 537bhp.
The roof of this spyder is made out of 100% fabric and comes in five colours. The soft-top of the car can be controlled with a touch of a button at the central display. According to Maserati, the roof takes a mere 14 seconds to be folded away, and can be retracted when the car is at speeds of up to 50km/h.
For open air driving, the car is able to warm the necks of not only the drivers but also the passengers at three intensities, providing a more comfortable experience in colder weather.
Maserati also says the GranCabrio has a 'noble interior' with an emphasis on 'balance of opposites'. Beyond best-in-class mechanics and latest technology for its infotainment system, the car has also been dubbed a 'monarch of style', with the classic proportions typical of the Modena-based brand's cars.
On top of this, customers can also opt for optional extras, one of which is the wind stopper at the rear. When the top is open, the wind stopper reduces the formation of turbulence inside the passenger compartment.
