Mazda confirms expanded SUV lineup for near future

Mazda has announced its plans to expand its SUV lineup from 2022 onwards.
The company plans to launch a Mazda CX-60 and Mazda CX-80 in Europe within the next two years. The new SUVs will help Mazda meet the growing needs its European customers by offering a wider choice of SUVs that combine the latest environmental performance with the driving pleasure inherent in every Mazda.
Featuring two-row and three-row seating respectively, the two models will also be offered as plug-in hybrid models with straight-four gasoline engines combined with an electric motor. A new generation Skyactiv-X six-cylinder petrol engine and a new Skyactiv-D diesel will also be introduced for these models, paried a 48V mild-hybrid system.
At the same time, new CX-70 and CX-90 wide-bodied models, and the CX-50 from the small platform group, will be launched in the U.S.A and some other non-European markets.
Finally, a new version of Mazda's first mass-production EV, the MX-30, will be introduced early 2022. The model is said to incorporate multiple electrification technologies and use a unique rotary engine as a generator.
