Mazda MX-5 Yusho concept introduced at AMI Leipzig

Perhaps a hint at the next-gen MX-5, Japanese automaker Mazda has introduced a supercharged MX-5 Yusho concept at the AMI Motor Show in Leipzig, Germany.

Named after the Japanese word for victory, the Yusho features a matte white exterior with carbon fibre diffuser and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is also sporty, with Recaro sport seats and a suede-wrapped steering wheel.

Under the hood, power comes from a supercharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that has been equipped with Cosworth pistons and connecting rods as well as a sports exhaust system. This enables the mill to produce 238bhp and 274Nm of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the model to hit a top speed of 240 km/h.
