Mercedes-AMG reveals new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its new, all-electric AMG GT 4-Door Coupe.

Top highlight for the new car is that it now makes use of an all-electric drivetrain. However, Mercedes-AMG isn't expecting this car to be any less exciting than its predecessor.

The Mercedes-AMG GT63 4-Door Coupe will sprint from zero to 100km/h in just 2.1 seconds thanks to its 860kW power output

First off, this new iteration of the grand tourer now offers a total power output of 860kW (that's 1,153bhp, mind). All this is possible thanks to the use of a total of three axial flux motors, which also happen to give the car a peak torque of 2,000Nm. Mercedes quotes the zero to 100km/h sprint as taking just 2.1 seconds with this output.

Pick the Mercedes-AMG GT55 4-Door Coupe and you'll get a total of 600kW to power your grand tourer, allowing the century sprint to be completed in just 2.5 seconds. For some context, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT currently offers a total power output of 750kW, so we're talking some serious acceleration either way you pick your Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door.

These axial motors get their power from a 106kWh, which is said to feature directly cooled cylindrical cells and make use of a special cell chemistry to ensure uniform temperature distribution and high-performance stability under continuous load.
