Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe officially launched

The C-Class Coupe sits below the bigger E-Class Coupe in Mercedes-Benz's range, and the new car replaces both the CLK and CLC Sports Coupe. Mercedes-Benz is aiming the C-Class Coupe at the likes of BMW's 3-Series Coupe and Audi's A5.

The C-Class Coupe's design features a more rakish windscreen, a sweeping roofline, and an upwards kink at the rear window, as well as the redesigned rear end. The interior of the C-Class Coupe is similar to the C-Class sedan and estate, and comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminium trim, or optional Burl Walnut and Ash Olive Matte finishes, metallic accents, and a 5.8-inch COMAND display. Options include heated front seats, a Harman/Kardon audio system, and GPS navigation.

Mercedes-Benz has also announced the engine choices available for the C-Class Coupe, and they include a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol that produces 201bhp and 310Nm of torque, which allows the car to go from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 209km/h. There is also a 3.5-litre V6 with 302bhp and 370Nm of torque, which sends the car from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds, on to a top speed of 209km/h. Both engines are mated to Mercedes-Benz's seven-speed automatic transmission.
