Mercedes-Benz ends production of the SLR supercar

Mercedes-Benz will mark the end of production by launching a limited edition version, the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss version, which was first revealed earlier this year and will be limited to just 75 units. The SLR Stirling Moss is a speedster with no roof, windscreen or windows.

Over the past 5 years, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren has collaborated to produce 2000 units of the SLR supercar, inclusive of the special edition 722 Coupe and Convertible versions, as well as the Stirling Moss edition.

The standard SLR was powered by a 5.5-litre V8 supercharged engine that produced 626bhp, while the 722 and Stirling Moss editions had a power output of 650bhp. The special editions could go from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds, and reach a top speed of 350km/h.
