MINI Asia and Eurokars Habitat have announced the availability of the new MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Clubman and the new MINI JCW Countryman in Singapore.
With a maximum power output of 302bhp, the latest generation of the four-cylinder engine developed for the JCW models surpasses that of the previous models by as much as 74bhp. Maximum torque has increased by 100Nm to 450Nm, and acceleration performance has also risen commensurately.
The new MINI JCW Clubman will accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, while the new MINI JCW Countryman achieves the same in 5.1 seconds, 1.4 and 1.5 seconds faster than in the previous models respectively.
For the first time in any MINI vehicle, the maximum speed of the two new sports performers is now electronically limited to 250km/h.
The standard ALL4 all-wheel drive system in both cars is electronically interconnected with the Dynamic Stability Control, allowing the car to constantly calculate the ideal power distribution ratio between the front and rear wheels, thus aiding to optimise traction, agility and driving stability from the car.
Also adding to the handling prowess of both models is a newly developed precision strut for the engine compartment, which connects the right and left spring strut domes. The bracing of the front end is provided by specific arrow struts and a dome-bulkhead strut in the undercarriage.
On the outside of the cars, large air inlets on the front of the vehicles serve the cooling requirements of both the drivetrain and the braking system. The outstanding performance characteristics of both cars are also reflected in their model-specific designs of the side skirts and the independent rear aprons, which feature integrated diffuser elements. Model-specific roof spoilers also play a role in reducing uplift at high travel speeds.
Other model-specific accentuations on the exterior include the contrast paintwork in red for the roof and the mirror caps, an individual design for the side scuttles by the additional indicators, and the JCW logo in the radiator grille and tailgate.
Both models also feature a panoramic glass sunroof. The central air inlet of both models has a honeycomb pattern structure, while the inlet of the MINI JCW Countryman also has a red surround.
The exclusive standard equipment of both top sports models in the MINI range also includes the Comfort Access system, MINI Driving Modes, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and the Radio MINI Visual Boost including an 8.8-inch touchscreen display.
