Polestar has announced that it is collaborating with autonomous driving technology firm Mobileye to make the Polestar 4 the first production car to feature Mobileye's Chauffeur autonomous driving technology.
The technology is said to bring to cars an eyes-off, point-to-point autonomous driving capability on highways, as well as eyes-on automated driving in other environments. Mobileye is already a leading developer of advanced driver assistance systems which are fitted to over 150 million cars worldwide.
The Polestar 4, meanwhile, is already set to go on sale in China and will hit other markets across the world come 2024. The car is already equipped with Mobileye's SuperVision-based hands-free but eyes-on advanced driver assistance system that can receive over-the-air updates. First deliveries of the Polestar 4 are expected to begin in China before the end of 2023.
