The Morgan Plus Four has received yet another update, after having a host of upgrades to its interior appointments in November 2022.
Fans of the classic look of the convertible will notice that the car now comes with a new head light design, which were conceived by Morgan's own design and engineering teams and have grown an inch larger than those of the outgoing model - a move said to return the car to its original proportions when before the Plus Four adopted the firm's CX-Generation aluminium platform in 2020, and to allow this new model to emit a more powerful and higher quality light than on previous models.
The Morgan Plus Four gets new exterior components including new head lights as well as new wing mirrors made from lightweight aluminium
The incorporation of the front indicator within these light units also mean the separate indicator units that feature on the outgoing car have also been removed.
The car's wings also have been given a new profile, while at the front and rear now sit new diffusers alongside new floating number plate plinths - all done to give the car a simplified look and reduce visual noise all to bring more emphasis to its iconic silhouette. These wings are now constructed via a cold forming technique and are said to utilise a greater level of surfacing to give the car more sculpted volume.
The Morgan Plus Four also now features a new model bade that features the firm's latest typeface, which is italicised and makes use of repeating speed lines - described as a contemporary interpretation of classic automotive brand design.
A 2.0-litre engine sourced from BMW continues to serve under that long bonnet of the Plus Four, which develops a total of 255bhp and produces a peak torque of 350Nm when paired to a six-speed manual transmission, although this figure rises to 400Nm when the car is specified with the eight-speed automatic transmission. The century sprint time of the convertible is listed at 4.8 seconds when specified with the automatic transmission.
Customers can, however, look forward to a host of handling upgrades including a revised suspension that gets new spring rates and re-valved dampers. Those looking to throw their Plus Four through a few corners will also be able to opt for an optional Dynamic Handling Pack, which gives the car new springs alongside single-way adjustable dampers and an additional anti-roll bar at the rear.
The Morgan Plus Four also now sports an upgraded Sennheiser audio system, which gets additional 'invisible' speakers underneath both seats, and higher-specification conventional speakers within the doors. You'll be able to identify the presence of the Sennheiser premium audio system thanks to the use of speaker grilles that take their inspiration from the louvres that are stamped into each bonnet of a Plus Four.
Also present with this new Morgan Plus Four are an enhanced LCD screen and dashboard and new interior illumination, while the car has also received a new key fob.
The first examples of the new Morgan Plus Four are set to enter production come May 2024. Morgan states that prospective clients can expect to test drive the new car at U.K. and European dealerships come June 2024.
