If Richard Hammond owns one, you can usually bet it'll be a doozy, and at first glance, it doesn't disappoint. On 11 March 2025, during a live launch event held at its Pickersleigh Road factory, Morgan Motors launched its new flagship sports car, the Supersport.
Individually coach-built around modern day technology and performance, the new Supersport's evolved level of dynamic sophistication is achieved thanks to its new CXV aluminium platform, which weighs just 102kg, providing torsional rigidity. It also reinforces the analogue driving experience synonymous with Morgan vehicles.
Two lightweight wheel options are available for the Supersport: 18-inch "Superlite" wheels or 19-inch "Aerolite" wheels, both weighing less than 10kg each. These will be housed in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres.
An interchangeable soft and hard top roof, rear boot, and side screen mounting mechanism ensures its usability is enhanced. Its cabin features modern-day tech such as Bluetooth connectivity with handsfree calling, an enhanced Sennheiser audio system, and wireless charging. The Supersport's dashboard also houses contrasting analog dials alongside customisable wood and leather finishes.
Under its hood, the sports car is powered by BMW's B58 TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine offering 335bhp and paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. For comparison, this engine is much like the one found across the German brand's 3 Series and 4 Series models.
The Supersport also comes in an Armeria Lilac variant with a hard top and a Bahama Blue variant with a soft top, which according to the brand, is meant to reflect the two distinct personas that the sports car personifies.
Furthermore, a simultaneous launch event was held at the Louwman Museum in the Netherlands, where guests were presented with the new model in a Copper metallic.
Morgan Motors has announced that the Supersport is now ready for order, with U.K. prices starting from £85,000.
