Morgan Plus Six production to come to an end

It's a dark day over at Malvern - the Morgan Motor Company has announced that production of the Plus Six will soon be coming to an end.
To mark the five-odd years that the company has been producing the model (it's close to sixty-odd years if you count the Plus Six as the successor of the Plus 8, which first saw production in 1968), a limited edition series, named the Plus Six Pinnacle, is being built to showcase Morgan's bespoke abilities - as if this special car (built in collaboration with Pininfarina) wasn't enough.
Each of the 30 special edition Morgan Plus Sixs will come with sheepskin carpets as well as a teak veneer centre column and solid teak dashboard lower rail
There's weight behind Morgan's words though: This Plus Six Pinnacle is said to be informed by some of the most exclusive 'special options' requested by customers throughout the life of Plus Six.
Limited to just 30 examples, each Plus Six Pinnacle will be offered in one of three interior colourways: Fawn, Explore, and Riviera. These are all selected for their neutral nature, so as not to clash with the range of exterior colours available - at no extra cost.
The cars will also come with natural sheepskin carpets - colour matched to the three leather options (a world away from the rough items that sit within the regular Plus Six) while a teak veneer centre column and solid teak dashboard lower rail will also feature in the cabin – the former comes complete with a special Pinnacle emblem.
A satin warm silver paint finish is also applied to the wheels, stone guard and dashboard of the cars - selected for its connotations with champagne and victory but softened to ensure neutrality when complementing any exterior paintwork. The cars finally get a new racing-style flip-up fuel filler cap.
Can't secure your own Plus Six fast enough? There's still some hope: Morgan states it will introduce an all-new flagship to its lineup come 2025.
May the hills of Malvern forever reverberate with the clangs and pings that come with the manufacture of hand built cars.
