Motor Image, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in Southeast Asia, has officially launched the all new Subaru WRX and the WRX STI.
A roomier interior, upgraded cabin comfort and materials as well as a wide array of new technologies give the new WRX a refined feel.
The new WRX is powered by a new 2.0-litre Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) Boxer engine that produces 268bhp and 350Nm of torque, allowing the car to go from 0 to 100km/h in 6.3 seconds (Lineartronic CVT transmission) and on to a top speed of 240km/h.
In addition to Subaru's core technology of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Variable Torque Distribution, an enhancement of the Vehicle Dynamics Control system has also been included, allowing drivers to enjoy a smooth and comfortable ride with predictable, responsive driving.
As for those who take driving more seriously, the top-of-the-line WRX STI could be their answer.
The iconic performance flagship model debuts in a new four-door wide body design, built on a stiffer chassis for even greater handling agility.
The refined interior includes electro-luminescent gauges and a new flat-bottom steering wheel. To make things sportier, the WRX STI features sports bucket seats with STI embroidery, sports pedals and leather upholstery.
The all new WRX STI is propelled by the most powerful engine in the segment - a 2.5-litre High-Boost turbocharged Boxer with large capacity intercooler that dishes out 300bhp and 407Nm of torque.
Paired with a reinforced short-throw six-speed manual transmission, the WRX STI finishes the century sprint in a whopping 5.2 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 255km/h.
At press time, the Subaru WRX is priced at $187,400 (with COE) while the Subaru WRX STI retails at $207,400 (with COE).
