Bentley's signature four-door sedan, the Flying Spur, has been made even better with increased technology and comfort for its 2022 model. Contemporary interior veneer choices and a new exterior paint - Cambrian Grey, expand the standard paint palette to 63 colours.
The City Specification variant consolidates an array of previously-optional content, becoming part of the standard vehicle specification for the 2022 Flying Spur. These features include traffic sign recognition, hands-free boot opening, a top-view, 360 degree camera, welcome lighting, automatic dimming mirrors, as well as an Air Ioniser.
The onboard air ionisers emit negatively-charged particles from the central air conditioning vents, enhancing cabin air purity. These create a static charge around pollutants such as dust or allergens in the air, which in turn cause them to stick to the nearest surface. Contaminants are thus removed from the air, increasing customer wellness.
In the cabin, new features include the option of open-pore veneer, which is finished in an ultra-thin matt lacquer. Liquid Amber, Dark Burr Walnut and Tamo Ash veneers are all available as an open-pore finish.
Selected from only the very best stock available, the open-pore wood veneer is painted with just three ultra-thin layers of lacquer, totalling only 0.1mm in thickness, allowing customers to feel the texture of the wood used. Each layer is applied by hand and sanded between applications, ensuring the lacquer sticks to the natural grooves of the wood. The resulting finish is wax-like and accentuates the natural colour and grain of the wood species used.
Virtual Prototyping features extensively in the 2022 Flying Spur's development, enabling designers to analyse digital mock-ups that help identify sources of Noise, Vibration and Harshness before building a physical version of the car. The result is a supremely refined, quiet, and insulated cabin.
