The Fiat Grande Panda has made its European debut. Designed at the Centro Stile in Turin, the new model is the first Fiat built on the Stellantis "Smart Car Platform" and is the inaugural model of a new family set to be introduced in the years to come.
The irony is not lost on the fact that the "Grande" Panda is a compact vehicle, measuring 3,990mm long, 1,570mm tall, and 1,760mm wide. A simple but functional design features bold surfaces embellished by soft lines, robust wheel arches to the rear, and silver front skid plates. Its front PXL LED lamps with an X design combines with black pillar finishes and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels to give the new model a unique look.
The Grande Panda will come in seven liveries - Limone yellow, Luna Bronze, Acqua azure, Lago blue, Passione red, Cinema black, and Gelato white.
Inside, it can comfortably seat five people and features a 10-inch digital cluster and 10.25-inch digital radio, as well as ingenious spacious storage in the interior such as its 13-litre dashboard and 361 litres of boot space. In addition, bright details enrich the interior of the Grande Panda, with a Blu Tasmania themed interior and the stitching of its infotainment area with the tunnel pad, dashboard, vents, and seats embellished with yellow details.
The Fiat Grande Panda will be available in both EV and hybrid variants.
The EV variant sports a 44kWh battery and an 83kW (111bhp) e-motor that offers a WLTP-range of 320km. It has a maximum speed of 132km/h and a century sprint timing of 11 seconds. Customers can choose from a 7kW AC front charging port (20% to 80% in four hours and 20 minutes) or a rear-only 11kW AC charging port (20% to 80% in two hours and 50 minutes). A standard DC fast charging port at the rear comes with both options, offering 100kW charging power that completes a charge in 27 minutes.
The hybrid variant features a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine offering 101bhp, as well as a 48-volt battery and six-speed electric dual-clutch transmission that includes the 21kW (28bhp) e-motor, inverter, and transmission central unit.
Both variants are offered in different trims. The EV variant offers buyers a choice between two: The Grande Panda La Prima and the (Grande Panda)RED, with the latter representing Fiat's commitment to global health in partnership with (RED). The hybrid variant, on the other hand, goes on sale in three trims: POP, Icon, and La Prima.
