New Opel Grandland goes all sleek and high-tech

Opel has pulled the covers off its new Grandland, and it's finally a car you'll actually be hankering over.
Now based on Stellantis' STLA Medium BEV platform, the Grandland is now available for the first time as an all-electric vehicle which gets a 98kWh battery. This battery will give the SUV a WLTP range of 700km and is being reported to power a 316bhp dual-motor setup.
The new Opel Grandland will feature an illuminated logo at the front and an illuminated wordmark on its tailgate
Opel does state, however, that customers will be able to get the new SUV with either a mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid drivetrain, both of which make use of a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine.
That's enough of the details. What you're really here for, are the car's new stunning looks.
Up front, the Opel Grandland now sports a new execution of the firm's Vizor front, which now features an illuminated iteration of Opel's new logo alongside the firm's also new Intelli-Lux Pixel Matrix HD lighting technology. The system is said to utilise a total of 51,200 to be precise elements at each side for high-definition light distribution.
At the rear, the Grandland instead gets an illuminated 'Opel' wordmark - a first for the brand. The name of the car is also no longer displayed in chrome lettering, and now appears as an embossed feature on its tailgate. Yummy.
For those interested, this sleek new body measures in at 173mm longer, 19mm taller, and 64mm wider than its predecessor.
These new exterior dimensions mean there is a total of 20mm of additional legroom for passengers in the rear of the vehicle, and those seated at the front now get to play with a new 16-inch central display that comes paired with a discrete wide and fully digital instrument cluster. Also new here is a smartphone holder that offers safe storage of personal devices thanks to the use an illuminated translucid glass.
First deliveries of the new Opel Grandland are set to start from late 2024 in the U.K.
