New Subaru Impreza WRX STI jumps into action

Guests and visitors at the Motor Image Rally Team Showcase at Turf City last weekend were treated to some tyre-burning rally action, thanks to drivers Cody Crocker and Rifat Sungkar.

Members of the public also had opportunities to experience thrill rides with the two rally drivers.
"Pure performance and pleasure. Forget boring. The new Subaru Impreza WRX STI will put fun and excitement back into driving with its sexy new curves, exquisite control and state-of-the-art technology", said Mr Glenn Tan, Group Chief Executive of Motor Image Enterprises.
Mr Tan adds, "Bent on setting new benchmarks, this new model will affirm the WRX STI as an established icon for high performance cars that combine outstanding performance with uncompromising safety, comfort and quality. This is what every driver deserves".
Stinging new STI
The new WRX STI carries a 2.5-litre DOHC turbocharged boxer engine, packs a 300 PS punch and 407 Nm of torque - enough to mess up one's biological G-force sensors.
On the outside, the five-door hatchback design displays bold, flared wheel arches, a bonnet which stylishly incorporates an air scoop, 17-inch rims and a pair of "don't-mess-with-me" twin exhausts at both sides of the rear. And, just to make sure despite all the increments to power won't see it launching off like the rally-pros did to the stripped-out race car, the top of the boot has a large spoiler to keep things to the ground.

Inside, Subaru has also done their part to make sure their other Japanese rivals don't get too much of an advantage in the electronics department. Drivers will be aided by the Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive), which adjusts the ride from comfort to super-sporty mode, Driver's Control Centre Differential (DCCD), allowing changes to how its LSD behaves, and also a Multi-mode Vehicle Dynamics Control System which lets drivers set their preference for traction control.
The new WRX STI will retail for a price of S$116,000 with COE.
