According to Volkswagen, the newly launched car is an ideal choice for drivers who desire an impressively styled saloon whose comfort, safety and quality are highly rated. Fitted with the brand’s well-known TSI engine, dual-clutch transmission (DSG) and with its spacious interior dimensions, the car certainly shines further.
The Jetta is available in three distinct models with the entry model being the Jetta 1.4 TSI. That said, this variant boasts countless features found in many luxurious cars such as the daytime running lights, electric seats, green tinted insulating glass, chrome bezels for the air vents and a multifunction display.
The next level up is the Jetta Comfort 1.4 TSI. Having the same powertrain as the base version, this slightly higher variant can be identified from the outside by its 16-inch ‘Navarra’ alloy wheels, chrome accents on the radiator grille as well as front fog lamps. And as expected from Volkswagen, the Jetta Comfort comes with ample features too.
The top-of-the-range is the Jetta Sport 1.4 TSI which sports the multi-award winning 1.4 TSI Twincharger engine under its sleek bonnet. With its power and torque figures of 160bhp and 240Nm respectively, the Jetta Sport has a top speed of 221km/h and completes the century sprint in just 8.3 seconds. In addition to that, the highest range variant also has an entertainment system with 30 GB hard drive and Volkswagen’s Keyless Entry Start and Exit System (KESSY).

Separating itself from the Golf, the Jetta has a completely new shell design. At 4.64 metres long, 1.45 metres tall and 1.78 metres wide, the car is now larger and sportier from all angles, thanks to Volkswagen’s new ‘design DNA’ that has sharpen the car’s styling.
Similarly to the headlamps, the taillights are powerfully illuminating and visually prominent. They are split into two sections, extending from the wing into the bootlid and displaying an unmistakable look regardless of whether it’s day or night. What further emphasises Jetta’s sportiness is not just its aerodynamic shape and lines. It’s also due to the vertical surface of the bootlid and segmented rear lights that shows a slight flare.
On the front end, it’s distinctively Volkswagen. The inclined windscreen portrays a coupe-like shape while the consistency of horizontal lines accentuates the car’s sizey proportions. But that does not lose its appeal as the air intake and tray-shaped front spoiler give the car an overall sporty and elegant finish.

Like most of the models in its stable, the Jetta offers perfection in details that can bring some of the higher-end automakers to shame.
The ergonomic cockpit sports instruments that are designed in style and are positioned in optimum viewing. The new three-spoke steering wheel design also impresses both visually and to the touch. However, it’s the space that really blows your mind.
Despite the flatter roofline, the headroom for driver and front passenger has been increased to 1,014 mm to allow them to travel over long distances with feeling tired. Additionally, the wheelbase has been extended to 2,651 mm, enabling a significantly more comfortable layout of the car’s three-person rear seating room. And should drivers decide to have a golf game with the family, the 510 litre boot capacity can easily haul in four golf bags, making it one of the biggest in its class.
