Nissan has announced the specifications of its upcoming Ariya NISMO to mark the fifth World EV Day.
The Ariya NISMO will retain the 87kWh battery of the regular Ariya but is set to get a total output of 429bhp, alongside a peak torque of 600Nm. This output is enough to see the Ariya NISMO propelled from a standstill to 100km/h in just five seconds.
On the handling front, the performance electric SUV is set to get a special tuned e-4orce system, with a 60:40 rear-bias to deliver a sportier drive compared to the regular Ariya, alongside the ability, Nissan states, to offer more turning and lateral forces than the GT-R NISMO. Its suspension also gets revised stabilisers, spring rates, and shock absorber settings for raised body control, while its steering has also been retuned to offer more resistance and a more direct feel.
On the exterior, the car also gets a new front splitter with canard vortices generators, extended lower bumpers, a twin diffuser and a ducktail rear spoiler, all said to reduce its total lift generated by 40%. The Nissan Ariya NISMO is also set to get 20-inch Enkei rims, wrapped in EV dedicated Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.
Sales of the Nissan Ariya NISMO are set to start in the U.K. come January 2025, although customers in the country are already advised to secure a right-hand-drive example by contacting their local dealer come late September 2024.
