North-South Line to get new Brickland station come 2034

The North-South MRT Line is set to get a new addition, the Brickland station, come 2034.

The LTA has announced that design and cstruction of the Brickland Station is set to begin in 2024. First announced as part of the Land Transport Masterplan 2040, the new station will be located between the existing Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Gombak stations.

The new Brickland station will help residents of Bukit Batok headed downtown or to the Jurong Lake District save up to 15 minutes off their commute

The LTA further states that the new station will help commuters in the area headed to the city or Jurong Lake District save up to 15 minutes of travel time. It will offer better connectivity to residents in in Keat Hong, Bukit Batok West, Pavilion Park and Tengah town's Brickland district, and will serve institutions including ITE College West, Swiss Cottage Secondary School and St. Anthony's Primary School.

A new viaduct and crossover tracks will be constructed to maintain the existing rail connection and minimise train disruptions to train operations while modification works are being carried out.
