Opel reveals new Corsa ecoFLEX

The new Opel Corsa ecoFLEX is expected to be launched in January 2010, and features a 1.3 litre CDTI turbo diesel engine that produces 95bhp and 190Nm of torque. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission with longer gear ratios, the Corsa ecoFLEX can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 12.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 177km/h.

Thanks to all the efficiency measures, the Corsa ecoFLEX is said to be able to achieve an average fuel consumption figure of 3.7 litres per 100km. Combined, this means the new Corsa ecoFLEX has 28% more power than the previous version, while fuel consumption figures have been reduced by 10%.

Other changes made to the Corsa ecoFLEX include a 20mm reduction in ride height, a diesel particulate filter, and aerodynamically-optimized 14-inch steel wheels, with the option for 15-inch wheels, outfitted with low roll-resistance tires.
