Peugeot is bringing a RCZ concept that previews its performance angle

Peugeot is stopping at nothing to ensure that they steal the limelight from this year's Paris Motor Show. Besides the possible reveal of the McLaren F1 successor and a teaser from Ferrari for its Enzo 2.0 (or so we hope), Peugeot already pre-impressed us with the Onyx supercar and facelifted RCZ.

Today it presents the RCZ R concept, yet another pre-show reveal. Finished in a stealthy matt black and chic copper it complements the Onyx concept as a toned down practical sports car.

The RCZ R previews a future model with a superior sporty character to be introduced at the end of 2013. Much like other performance automakers the team at Peugeot Sport and PSA Group Development are collaborating to adopt racing technology and characteristics for a road legal production vehicle.

Its new 1.6-litre 260bhp powertrain makes it the most powerful production model in Peugeot's history, yet with a gentle CO2 emissions of around 155g/km.
