Pininfarina has introduced what it states is the world’s first all-electric open top hyper Barchetta, the B95.
The 'B', if you’re wondering, stands for Barchetta, and that '95' marks the 95th anniversary of Pininfarina SpA come 2025, when first deliveries of this B95 are expected to begin.
Only a total of 10 examples of the hyper Barchetta are set to be made, and each will be meticulously curated by Pininfarina's own design team alongside each car's individual client, ensuring complete exclusivity.
Pininfarina states that the clean and pure lines of the Barchetta body shape have been contrasted against the technical detailing to deliver a beautiful design. In this car shown in the images and set to be revealed at Monterey, the former is finished in a metallic Bronzo Superga, while the latter takes the form of a gloss section at the front and atop the driver's dome, as well as the various exposed carbon elements.
The Pininfarina B95, of course, gets no glasshouse. The car does, however, get two electronically adjustable aero screens. These take inspiration from vintage fighter planes, and feature exposed aluminium supports that can be raised or lowered by the client to improve comfort when on the move, while preserving the clean lines of the vehicle.
Inside the cabin, a carbon fibre dashboard features, upholstered in the same Tan sustainable leather that is used on the seats. The car's seats themselves take inspiration from classic race cars, as well as from the seats that feature in the Pura Vision concept. Both seats are said to have been profiled to cosset the driver and passenger, ensuring comfort and protection. Clients can additionally order bespoke helmets, in a finish coordinated to match their car.
Under this sleek body and cabin, sits a drivetrain that can deliver a total of 1,877bhp, all fed via a 120kWh lithium-ion battery. This battery pack is liquid-cooled and protected within a strong and lightweight carbon fibre housing. It can additionally charged at speeds of up to 270kW.
