Automobili Pininfarina unveils the Battista Cinquantacinque

Just weeks after showing off its 'Batmobiles' to the world, Automobili Pininfarina has announced that it is paying tribute to the 1995 Lancia Florida with yet another very special curated Battista commission: The Battista Cinquantacinque.
In the early 50s, the Lancia Florida was penned by the design firm-cum-carmaker's founder, Battista 'Pinin' Farina. It was renowned as a 'rolling sculpture', which then inspired new design perspectives. Interestingly, Pinin's personal Florida was his daily driver throughout his career. Now, the Battista Cinquantacinque hyper GT pays homage to this heritage.
The exterior of this Battista Cinquantacinque is finished in Blu Savoia Gloss paint, with a contrasting Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof. The look is finished off by the Brushed Anodised jewellery pack. Meanwhile, the interior is upholstered in Mahagoni Poltrona Frau Heritage Leather. The livery and name 'Cinquantacinque' translates to 55 in Italian, and honours the 1955 Lancia Florida which was styled by Carrozzeria Pininfarina.
Adding emphasis to this heritage and provenance, the Cinquantacinque model features various 'Cinquantacinque 55' inscriptions on the passenger door plate and underside of the active rear wing.
Each Battista will be powered by four independent electric motors alongside a 120kWh lithium-ion battery. This combination provides the vehicle with 1,874bhp and 2,340Nm of torque, allowing the car to go from 0-100km/h in just 1.82 seconds, alongside a driving range of up to 476km.
The Lancia Florida is not the only inspiration behind the Cinquantacinque Battista. The vehicle took inspiration for key design elements from the Pura Vision design concept. This is said to set the template for all future Automobili Pininfarina models.
The 50s sedan featured rear-opening doors and had no B-pillar - a design cue that has been translated into Pura Vision in the form of its Lounge Doors. The doors hinge upwards and together with the pillarless opening and rear-hinged back doors, provides unrestricted access to the concept car's 2+2 seating.
The Battista Cinquantacinque will debut in Tokyo, Japan. It will also be introduced to retail partner, SKY GROUP, as part of Automobili Pininfarina's continued global expansion.
