The 911 GT3 R has the same extra-wide body as the 911 GT3 RS road car, and weighs a mere 1200kg. Porsche has equipped the racer with anti-lock brake system (ABS), traction control and an electronic throttle with 'blip' function on gearbox down-changes to make the GT3 R easier to use than its predecessor.
Porsche says the new GT3 R is suitable for more ambitious amateur racing drivers, rather than just experienced racing professionals. The new 911 GT3 R will make its world debut at the Birmingham Motor Show in January, with deliveries to follow shortly.
