Porsche 960 Ferrari Fighter to be 4-door coupe
08 May 2012|4,696 views
Said to be due in 2015, the 960 is the supercar discussed last year as a bridge model between the 911 and 918. Reports now suggest that the 960 or more affectionately known internally as 'Fefi' (Ferrari Fighter), will be based on Volkswagen's new MSB platform.
The interesting bit of the MSB platform is that it is quite a flexible system and can be used for a wide range of high-performance models and the engine can be mounted in the front, mid or the rear. However, the Porsche 960 will most likely be based on the MSB-M mid-engine rear-wheel drive platform.
The 960 will be a four door coupe, which is strange considering that its identified rival Ferrari has no 4-door coupe in its current stable. Nevertheless, power to the “Fefi” will be provided by a 3.8-litre twin turbo unit generating close to 591bhp and 745Nm of torque.
