Porsche has announced two additions to the Cayenne lineup: the performance topping Cayenne GTS, and a new entry-level Cayenne SUV equipped with a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine. The Cayenne and Cayenne GTS are celebrating their world debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show with commercial sales to commence immediately.

The Cayenne GTS is powered by a Cayenne S sourced 3.6-litre V6 bi-turbo engine. Compared to its preceding naturally aspirated V8 engine, power in the new Cayenne GTS has increased by 20bhp to 440bhp and torque by 85Nm to 600Nm.
The lump catapults the Cayenne GTS from nought to century mark in just 5.2 seconds, (5.1 with the optional Sport Chrono package) and continues to climb to an adequate 260km/h.
With the standard steel-spring suspension the vehicle sits 24mm lower, while with the optional air suspension the figure is 20mm. Further standard features include the brakes from the Cayenne Turbo - with 390mm discs on the front axle and 358mm at the rear, held by red brake callipers.
New entry-level Cayenne
The power unit in the new base Cayenne is the familiar 3.6-litre V6 naturally aspirated engine, delivering 300bhp, and propels the SUV from 0 to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds (7.6 with the optional Sport Chrono package) before hitting a top speed of 230km/h.
Like the rest of the Cayenne brethren, the new basic Cayenne benefits from general efficiency measures, such as coasting, auto Start-Stop function and thermal management.
Compared with the previous model the new Cayenne also offers more comprehensive standard features including a new eight-speed Tiptronic S, bi-xenon main headlights with four-point LED daytime driving lights, multi-function sports steering wheel and an automatic tailgate.
