As part of their 2020 World Tour, Japanese manufacturer Rays has held a launch event at the CoSpace Park on 1 October 2019.
For those less familiar with the firm's racing heritage, the firm manufactures rims which are used at the highest levels of competitive motorsport.
Their rims have recently helped the Toyota Gazoo Racing team emerge as the overall champion for the last two consecutive years in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, while they continue to manufacture forged magnesium rims for the world's most competitive motor races such as Formula One and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Its tagline, 'The concept is racing' encapsulates the logic behind the company's heavy involvement in motorsport. Rays believes that putting its reputation on the line in a competition where only the real deal will prevail enables it to enhance the performance of its road wheels.

With a myriad of new rims on offer, Rays has decided to feature three during the launch event. These three rims capture the philosophy of their race-inspired brand as well as show the variety rims they have on offer.
Firstly, from the Volk Racing line we have the GT090, representing the benchmark for forged sport wheels that leverage racing technology. The lightness and strength of Volk Racing wheels have been attained by applying know-how gathered from GT3 racing. Featuring holes in its spokes for added weight savings, the GT090 utilises a clean silhouette and its lack of ostentation identifies is as a weapon for high-performance vehicles around the world.

Finally, the Versus Mode Forged (VMF) line of rims by Rays provides a European flavour to Rays' latest wheel designs for drivers who enjoy dressing up their cars.
The VMF rims feature geometric designs inspired by Japanese origami, while still being carefully crafted to aid in the reduction of noise, vibration and harshness levels in the vehicle. Rays is targeting drivers of luxury sports cars that want high-quality wheels with this line of rims.
