As part of its strategic expansion plans, Renault Group and several major trade unions have signed an agreement for future Renault production sites in the Hauts-de-France region. This agreement gives birth to Renault ElectriCity, a legal entity that groups Renault's major production plants, totalling nearly 5,000 employees.
By creating this entity, the company aims to make Renault EletriCity the largest and most competitive production unit for electric vehicles in Europe, with 400,000 vehicles produced per year by 2025.
To support this ambitious project, Renault Group plans to create 700 permanent jobs in the region between 2022 and the end of 2024. These recruitments will take place within the framework of shared approaches with local employment missions.
The ultimate aim of the initiative is to transform the Hauts-de-France region into the European benchmark for the production of electric cars. In conjunction with its R&D functions, Renault Group will form partnerships with universities to engage in research work, as well as joint ventures with start-ups and specialised entities to support future developments in the automotive world.
