Renault releases the Megane RenaultSport 250

The new Megane RenaultSport 250 will be powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo that produces 250bhp, as the name suggests. Torque has been increased from the old Megane R26 R by 30Nm, to 340Nm. Standard transmission is a six-speed manual gearbox.

A couple of new features have been introduced on the Megane RenaultSport 250 for the first time. The first is the Renaultsport Monitor which shows information such as lateral acceleration, 0-100km/h acceleration times, lap times and real-time engine performance through a central dashboard display.

The other new feature is the RenaultSport Dynamic Management which controls the intensity of the Electronic Skid Control (ESC). This can be switched off by the driver if required. Two chassis settings are available, the standard Sport setting for everyday use and the stiffer Cup setting.

Renault has equipped the Megane RenaultSport 250 with LED daytime running lights, an F1-inspired front bumper blade, side sills, wider wheel arches, a rear diffuser and an extended tailgate spoiler. The centrally-mounted exhaust pipe gives a mighty roar that can rival any sports car.

Inside, the Megane RenaultSport 250 comes with optional Recaro seats, and aluminium pedal covers, while the steering wheel is reach and height adjustable.
