Renault has unveiled more of its new Megane E-Tech Plug-In Hybrid hatchback. The five-door family car enhances the brand's electrified vehicle offerings, and joins the existing Megane Sports Tourer plug-in hybrid.
With its distinctive signature LED lighting, clean lines and defined features, the Megane E-Tech Plug-In Hybrid is a highly attractive proposition in every sense. The sophisticated appearance of the electrified hatchback is accentuated by standard features as C-shaped LED daytime running lights, 16-inch 'Impulse' diamond-cut alloy wheels finished in subtle Slate Grey, and chrome detailing.
Inside, the new Megane E-Tech Plug-In Hybrid offers a unique space and cockpit that combines refinement, sophistication and technology, while also offering all the space that a family requires to travel in complete comfort and ease.
In addition to ample seating room for five, the interior offers up to 308 litres of boot space. Occupants also enjoy the inclusion of the Easy Link infotainment system and a choice of eight distinctive ambient lighting colours.
The R.S. Line adds extra sportiness to the already elegant interior, which features brushed aluminium and a Black Velvet trim. It includes a R.S leather steering wheel, gear lever with red-top stitching, R.S Line dashboard and trim, and sports seats at the front with built-in headrests. All the seats are covered in R.S. Line Black fabric upholstery with eye-catching red stitching.
Under the bonnet, the Megane E-Tech plug-in hybrid utilises a 1.6-litre petrol engine complemented by two electric motors: A main electric motor that produces 48bhp, and a secondary unit that serves as a high voltage starter and generator.
With a total output of 157bhp, the new hybrid is more powerful than previous diesel and petrol variants, demonstrating that performance does not come at the expense of fuel efficiency. The Megane E-Tech hatchback can sprint from zero to 100km/h in 9.4 seconds, up to a top speed of 174km/h.
In terms of technology, the new Megane E-Tech plug-in hybrid hatchback complements its advanced drivetrain with a generous level of standard equipment and cutting-edge driver assistance systems.
These include Hill Start Assist, and updated Electronic Stability Programme with Anti-Skid Regulation and Understeer Logic Control, cruise control with speed limiter, front and rear parking sensors, and Renault's Visio System, which incorporates lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.
Both the Iconic and R.S. Line benefit from many features as standard, such as a 10-inch TFT driver's display, Multi-Sense with three driving modes, and eight ambient lighting colours.
The Easy Link infotainment system is also fitted as standard, offering both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and accessed through a 9.3-inch touchscreen on the R.S. Line. Regular updates from Renault keep the system slick and up-to-date.
