A Renault R5 Turbo 3E LEGO set could soon become official

Ladies and gentlemen, Renault needs you, more than ever.

The firm is calling fans and members of the public around the world to back a fan-built LEGO version of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E in order to turn it into an official set.

And this isn't just some corporate marketing project or new business collaboration. The (potential) set is currently shortlisted on LEGO Ideas, a platform that supports individual creators in turning their ideas into actual official LEGO sets.

And this set in particular has been crafted up by one Dave Collins, expertly bringing Renault's all-electric "mini supercar" translated into LEGO from a total of close to 1,200 pieces. We think it captures the stance of the actual car quite handsomely, no?

And if you agree, this is where your help is needed: This Renault 5 Turbo 3E now needs a total of 10,000 supporters before it can progress into the next stage of the LEGO Ideas process as it makes its way into becoming an official set.
