Following an unexpected dive in COE prices on Wednesday, car showrooms were packed with traffic over the past weekend. The Straits Times reported that sales have also picked up substantially.
Speaking to the local papers, Managing Director of Volvo agent Wearnes Automotive, Mr. Victor Kwan, said orders collected over the past weekend were around 2.5 to three times more than usual. He added that the orders were spread evenly over V40, S60 and XC60 models.
Likewise, Mr. Nicholas Wong, General Manager of Honda dealer Kah Motor observed higher than usual traffic at the showroom in the past two days.
Still, there were some consumers who took a more conservative approach in the hope that COE prices will drop further.
